Final Reflection

My most formative experience was probably the celebrating failure assignment. I always tried my best to not let failure cloud my vision and to use it to excel rather than to regress, but was not perfect at doing this. That assignment made me think deeper into what failure really is and use it to propel myself forward to even better things than what I failed at originally. The experience I’ll remember for years is probably the interview assignment with the people close to me. Hearing what they had to say about my social capital was something that was very unique and rewarding. That is something that will stick with me in the future. My most joyous experience was probably when we were done with all of the interview assignments for the semester. I think those were the most difficult assignments when you are a busy student and you sometimes have to get in contact with strangers to interview. Even though I am joyous it is over it was a good experience. I am also most proud of myself for accomplishing all of the interview assignments. As I said they were the most difficult timewise and resource wise. Finding the right people to interview was sometimes very difficult.

I think I do see myself as an entrepreneur. Just being able to complete all the assignments with a maximum amount of effort in this class allows you to have the entrepreneurial ability if you want to use it when you finish this class. Before this class I thought being an entrepreneur was this Lavish and easy way to make insane amounts of money and know I understand the high level of work it takes to be a successful entrepreneur.

For future students, I would recommend reading the assignment description for the weeks assignments on Sunday night after you have turned in your peer reviews for the week prior. Many times, I found myself scrambling to complete certain assignments because I waited till midweek then realized tracking down interviewee’s is not as easy as you may think it is. I would also say try to embrace the weird and quirky setup of this class even though it is a lot of assignments it is a nice break from the other classes you may be taking. I would also say just buy into your product being a real thing whether you will actually try to make it a real life concept because it makes it easier to invest your time on assignments if you feel like this is something that could be a reality.

  1. It's really great that you got to use the failure assignment to look deeper into your own failures and grow not only as an entrepreneur but also in general. I completely agree that future students should read the assignment ahead of time, I also found myself scrambling to do interviews at the last second on the weeks I forgot to look ahead. This class also showed me that being an entrepreneur is incredibly hard work and takes a lot of drive and passion. Also, I've enjoyed following your growth this semester and liked that we always commented on each others posts :)
