Exit Strategy
My exit strategy would be to sell my business hopefully for
a large sum of money after 5-10 years. I think that my product is interesting
and I have things that make me love it, but I would see myself getting bored
doing the same thing for such a long time. I think that I would want to
eventually work somewhere else or invent a new product with the money I have
acquired from this business. I would consider handing the business down to my
children if they showed interest in it, but that is the only thing that would
change my decision to hopefully sell the business for a large sum of money. I
selected this because like I said before even though I do love this product
because it is something that solves a problem I had it is something that would
bore me after a long period of time. I do not think this exit strategy has
influenced any of my other decisions. Throughout the process of creating the
product idea and all other things associated with the product I never even
thought about an exit strategy until now. I think this is a good thing to do so
you are focused fully on the products success before thinking about moving on.
I agree with your idea to sell your business. I like your point of view that you might get bored of running the same company for so long. It would definitely be cool to pass it down and make it a family run company, but also selling it and investing that money into a new business would also give you another opportunity to create a business to pass down.
ReplyDeleteGreat job on your blog post. Throughout this entire year I have really enjoyed reading your posts and believe that your business has a lot of potential for success. It would be smart to sell your business once it becomes successful because I am sure you can make a lot of money from it. I also did not think of an exit strategy until this assignment but I believe it is an important thing to consider when creating a business.
