Idea Napkin 1


1.     You: I am a very driven person who hates to lose. I will do whatever it takes to be better than the people I am competing with and to reach goals that I set for myself. I think I hate losing more than I like winning. I really have a personal attachment to this business idea because I used to smoke and one thing I always hated was that I smelled awful all day long. Also, I used ozone gas as a treatment when I was ill after high school and learned a ton of cool things about the gas, such as its ability to kill odor extremely effectively. So, I would say that this business idea could be something I would do full time because it is something I have strong feelings about.
2.     What are you offering customers: My product is revolutionary in the fact that it will eliminate close to all odors emitted from smoking anything from tobacco to cannabis. It will have a system where the smoker will be able to rest there hand right next to the filter and will easily be able to exhale smoke inside of it. This will eliminate second hand smoke which kills many non-smokers. It will also make it so that people can smoke inside if they choose without having a designated smoking room.
3.     Who are you offering it to: My customers will all be people who smoke some material on a somewhat regular basis. These people will be prominently people who live with others that they do not want to expose to second hand smoke, people who lie in areas where smoking outside is uncomfortable due to weather, and people in professional settings where they cannot afford to smell like smoke.
4.     Why do they care: These customers will pay for this product because they do not want to endure these harsh elements during summer and winter where it is uncomfortable to be outside especially for long periods of time. This is a one-time purchase with the only recurring purchase being a replaceable carbon filter. So, after the initial purchase it is relatively cheap to keep running. It will also help professionals who want to always smell professional but do not want to have to stop smoking or shower every time they have a professional function to attend. Also, many people who care for the loved ones around them will purchase this so they do not put them at risk because of second hand smoke.
5.     What are your core competencies: I am set apart from everyone else because even though there are many air purification systems there is not one specific o eliminating smoke odor, especially completely eliminating it so that there is no recognizable smell. My Filter will also be unique because of the hole or portal that you will hold your hand or smoking apparatus inside of that sucks in the smoke.


I think that these elements fit together very well. I think many smokers especially those that smoke often that are still social or professional people do not always want to smell like smoke. I think that the fact that my product may be too big to be portable is something that isn’t totally in line with what my customers may want.

I like how passionate you are about it and your personal connection to the product since you used to smoke certainly helps with your drive to see it succeed.   2. I enjoyed the first part of this blog post where you connected yourself to the product and proved your devotion to the success of your product. I also agree that your points are tied together well. I do not see any direct holes in your product. I think that many people will pay to use your product because of the negative attitude towards smoking. I also liked how you you explained how your product was different than any existing similar products that are currently available on the market. Overall great job.
